Frequently asked questions

What are the requirements to drive?

Drivers must be 25+ years old, have a valid driver’s license, and a credit card.

A short safety video is required before departure.

Where do we pick up the boat?

Pickup is at the Wheel Fun Rental kiosk, located about 300 feet east of the Bandshell near Bread & Pickle restauranton Lake Harriet.

Do we need reservations or can we walk up?

Both are welcome, but reservations are recommended during busy days.

Can I bring my dog or pet on the boat? 🐾

Yes! We've designated one of our boats, Patsy (the purple boat), as our pet-friendly boat out of respect for guests with pet allergies. If you'd like to bring your dog or other well-behaved pet, simply select the Pet Cleaning Fee ($19) during checkout to help cover the additional cleaning between rentals.

We ask that pets remain under your control at all times and that you clean up after them so Patsy is ready for the next crew to enjoy.

Can we bring food or snacks on board?

Yes! Feel free to bring food and drinks.

We provide small coolers for your convenience.

Please note: alcohol is not permitted in Minneapolis parks.

Can we swim off the Boats?

For safety reasons, swimming is not permitted directly from our boats, as they are not equipped with swim ladders.

The good news is that if you’d like to take a dip, our docks are located just 250 feet from the beach—making it easy to enjoy a swim before or after your ride.
